August Goals

For the first time since starting this journey over 13 months ago I'm writing down goals that I want to meet for the month of August. I'm going to do my damnest to meet each of these but I know that if I don't I gave it my all and that it won't deter me from finishing my ultimate goal. So here goes nothing: Daily Goals: Drink at least 8 cups of Water To eat in the calorie range of   1500-1800 To do a minimum of 30 with a maximum of 90 of Cardio Weekly Goals: To get in 6-7 days of cardio To get in 4-6 days of weight lifting To lose 1.6-1.8 lbs To run 2-3 times Monthly Goals: To lose 6-7 lbs To increase weight To run 7 miles at least 2 times To increase speed on running The only goal I foresee giving me any trouble is the weight loss. I have noticed that since I'm about 75% done with my over all goal the weight is coming off slower and slower. I have been trying to do different workouts so that I don't get bored and my body doesn't get...

Finding the Right Balance....Part 1 of 3: Weight Loss

Trying to find the right balance is not an easy thing, especially the older you get and the more responsibilities that come. I'm trying to find the right balance in a lot of different parts of my life right now: weight loss, being a parent, and being a wife. Weight Loss: I am now starting Month 14 in my weight loss journey. I have done very well in the weight loss department, as well in losing inches. When I look at myself in the mirror at the gym as I lift weights I can really tell that my legs are looking better and smaller. Why center on my legs?? Over all that is the one place that I have lost the least amount of inches. And as I told Tyler, I will never have small slender legs....they will always be curvy and since accepting that I want to make sure they are toned and muscular. But I'm going off course of the topic. This last week to week and half I have been working on finding the right balance of exercise and calorie consumption. When I first got home from my mini v...

My struggles for the month of July

I knew going into the month that the first 10 days were going to be a little harder than usual as I was going up to my hometown to visit family and get a mini vacation from my everyday life here in Charleston, plus I need some much needed me time that I was going to get when the kids went to spend the night at one of their grandfather's house. I skipped my usual workout on Friday morning since I had so much I still needed to do before getting on the road at 1. Saturday morning I got up and went for my first run outside since the middle of May...it felt great. It went somewhat downhill after that. For the 10 days I was there I only worked out 3 times...I didn't feel guilty about not doing more, nor do I feel guilty about it now. I spent most of the week eating what I wanted when I wanted, never once did I over eat to the point of being so full I was sick to my stomach, but I wasn't as strict to what I was eating. Again I didn't feel guilty about not watching it more, nor...

My Year in My Weight Loss

I started out on this last attempt to lose weight on June 26, 2010. My 1 year anniversary is coming up in 3 days. I still can't believe that I stuck with this for a whole year. My last few attempts only last a few months at a time. I can't say what one reason why I stuck with it this time, but I do contribute most of it due to me being in therapy. Along with getting my outer image what I want it to be, I worked on getting my inner image what I want it to be. I let go of so much through therapy which in turn let me let go of much from my body. I have learned so much through out this last year. After the first couple of weeks I stopped feeling that "hunger" feeling. I have never felt deprived of anything type of food as I didn't anything from my diet. I did go one month of no fast food to see if I could do it....lasted 25 out of the 30 days. I didn't feel like that was a failure by any means, I was on a family outing and it was a last minute decision to grab KFC...

9 Months Gone By.....

As of March 26, 2011 I have been on this weight loss/lifestyle change journey for 9 months. The longest that I have ever stuck to something like this. I will be honest it has been a bit of a struggle the last couple weeks with the food I have been eating. I have been giving in more and more to what I want such as cheese fries, mozzarella sticks....all fried and mainly just eating out too much. But over the last week I have gotten back into cooking and eating back at home. Which is easier to control portion size, fat content and calories. But it so much easier to grab something from somewhere else when its only me and the kids and they are such pain to cook for sometimes (but they are kids). On the other hand I have not let up on my workouts. I added it up for the month of March I worked out for a total 46 hrs and 25 mins and only took 3 days off. Now for some stat updates: Weight: Starting: 242.4 Current: 175.2 Total of 67.2 lbs down Measurements as of Oct 2010: Waist- Starting:...

Clothes with Weight Loss

So over the last several years I have always complained that I could never find clothes to fit me or that all the clothes that I owned were too small or looked just plain awful. And now I'm in the same boat on the opposite side of the river. All my clothes are too big. Yes it is a great feeling but when you are trying to find something to wear its a big pain in the A$$!!!! Right now I have about three shirts and one thin sweater that I rotate through and only one pair of jeans that fit and even those are getting too big now. I have several tank tops that I have bought through out the year and its getting to the point where I can't even wear them around the house since they are falling down up top and my bra is showing, lol. But since I don't go anywhere that often what I have is working for me. Most days I'm in my workout clothes or lounging shorts/pants and t-shirts/tank tops. My therapist gave me the idea of hitting up the local goodwill stores to find clothes at a c...
